Scoop Out the Goodness

  1. Cut the Cheeks: Slice the mango in half, cutting roughly 1/4 inch away from the center to bypass the pit. Repeat on the other side. You will have two large flesh-filled “cheeks” and a middle pit section.
  2. Prepare the Spoon: Use a large kitchen spoon with a relatively thin edge for best results.
  3. Scoop the Flesh: Slide the spoon between the skin and the pulp at the top of the cheek, working it downward along the curve of the skin.
  4. Remove the Pulp: Continue the motion to release the entire, unbroken piece of flesh from the skin.
